Komma is a tribal nation, governed by the heads of the 5 biggest tribes in the country. Each tribe is allocated a section of Komma, divided by cardinal points: North Komma (NK), East Komma (EK), South Komma (SK), West Komma (WK), and Central Komma (CK). They have vast amounts of freedom of reign over their section, but do need agreements for a few international points like war divisions and foreign relations.
Komma has 5 capital cities, which are all located in the central point of their section. It is noted that the capital cities aren't necessarily hyper populated, as the population is scattered throughout the terrain.
East Komma = Carol (population 568,120)
North Komma = Lucinda (population 552,785)
South Komma = Hodin (population 523,038)
West Komma = Tarkev (population 509,392)
Central Komma = Olum (population 384,458)
Temperatures ranging from 6 degrees Celsius to 18.

Komma is what's known as an "experimental country". Because of its position and low population, Komma had to find ways to make allies and trades. Komma found that trading its own people for experiments was the most lucrative and long-term way of maintaining good foreign relations.
Komma functions as a testing ground for ground-breaking scientific and social ideas. Once a country puts a bid on an idea they'd like Komma to execute, each tribe will meet up and announce their price for their people, along with why they think they can offer more than other tribes, or why they should sit it out.
Historically, the East Komma tribe will focus more on military force and warring divisions, whilst West Komma focuses on economic and manufacture. North Komma is known for its medical tests, and South Komma its education and family dynamics experiments. Central Komma is mainly used as a political and governmental testing ground, although it is worth noting it has the least history of testing. This could come from its reduced working area, or because the leaders of the Central Komma tribe have always been known as less ambitious than others, and prefer to focus on alternative ways of making money.
East Komma is known for having served in the Great War, from 684 - 690. They were hired as manpower for Shilrok's invasion of North Altrida, which caused great concern for neighbouring countries.
As a result of being a country-for-hire, whilst sharing deep ancestral roots between its five tribes, Komma is an intriguing country with at times paradoxical and contradictory cultural elements. Very few of Komma's public celebrations and festivals are shared across the entire country. It is potentially for this reason that there is so little unrest in a country so divided by its sections' choices: they barely interact with each other. Immigration between sections is discouraged, mainly because a lot of the population remains under strict instructions and NDAs for most of their lifetime (most of the experiments paid for by other countries span across 50 years).
Tall squirrels have gone feral in this part of the world and are actively exterminated as pests by farmers.
Komma isn't overtly religious, as the country holds a very pragmatic view of the world in general. They have no access to water, and don't seem particularly attached to it, at the contrary of most other countries on Ecbeth. Historically, Komma was populated by tribes which were raped, pillaged and eventually mass-murdered by Campille and Klant's hunters. The only way it found to survive, and eventually thrive, was turning themselves into mercenaries of anything; people of service.
There have been quite a few records of maids, nurses and others poisoning or murdering their owners. This has given Komma a strong sense of individual survival, by any means necessary. They are extremely loyal to their own, and quite disloyal to anybody else. They believe in the power of their ancestors, and that minds are transferred and merged with the new from a generation to another. They believe in their soil, their food and their skies, as pathways to their elders. They are fairly interested in natural conservation, although it comes second to any contract that could bring them safety and leverage over other countries.
