Below is a rough timeline of events happening on Ecbeth, leading to the world as we know it today.
Most of the continents are submerged underwater, bar from some of the mountain peaks. The atmosphere is made up of water rather than air (liquid cosmos).
The early cellular forms of Jannadians have a symbiotic relationship with the water, consuming it and slowly turning it into oxygen and various neurotoxic gases. Over millions of years, Ecbeth’s atmosphere turns to oxygen and becomes habitable as Jannadians grow enormous.
Some beings escape from Jannadis, and before they die of thirst, some of them settle in the cradle of Ecbeth: the South Altridan Basin. From there, mutated Jannadians evolve to diminish in size and become Ecbethians.
The early Ecbethians of Altrida, devastated by infighting and cannibalism, start colonising the environing continents. Eventually, some of them land at the bottom of the Solmaic continent, where they find a particularly hospitable land: Masahab. They create their empire and prosper for millennia.
As Ecbethians start traveling more and exchanging experiences, religions are formalised and shared. What seemed trivial and personal becomes international. Religious wars begin throughout the planet.
Countries with vast sailing powers and trading upper-hand start mass-colonising their neighbours, spreading their own religious beliefs throughout continents.
Discoveries of isolated Jannadian offsprings throughout Ecbeth lead to a first successful descent on Jannadis. The study of the deceased offspring lead to huge scientific leaps, but ultimately a devastating war between the two powers who funded the Descent.
Thanks to the string of medical and scientific discoveries from Jannadis, ultimately Ecbethians decimate Jannadians and merge with their remains, getting a tighter grasp and control over their own terraforming projects. They start growing significantly taller again.
Because of the overwhelming amount of Ecbethians releasing toxins to the atmosphere, the planet dries up in places, leading to overpopulation, crowding, new diseases and famines. Leading corporations decide to kickstart amphibious projects in order to decrease land mass, overpopulation and water loss.
